How Salik Dynamic Pricing Works
Salik moved to variable (dynamic) pricing, so the toll now depends on when you cross a gate, not just how many gates you pass. Each crossing is deducted automatically from your Salik account through the tag on your windscreen.
- Peak, AED 6: 6 to 10 AM and 4 to 8 PM, Monday to Saturday.
- Off-peak, AED 4: 10 AM to 4 PM and 8 PM to 1 AM.
- Free: 1 to 6 AM every day.
- Sundays: flat AED 4 all day (unless a public holiday tariff is announced), free 1 to 6 AM.
- Ramadan: the free window shifts to 2 to 7 AM.
- VAT: since June 1, 2026, a 5% VAT applies to toll charges, so a peak crossing costs AED 6.30 and an off-peak crossing AED 4.20.

Cut the Toll Out Entirely
If your commute runs along Sheikh Zayed Road, the Red Line parallels it for most of its length and no Nol fare comes close to AED 12.60 a day in peak tolls. Compare with our metro fare calculator, or check metro park and ride, where you can leave the car before the toll gates and ride in.
