Every year ahead of Ramadan, RTA announces adjusted service hours for public transport, parking, and customer service centres. The metro itself usually keeps close to its normal schedule, while the bigger changes hit paid parking periods and Salik free hours. This page carries the timings RTA confirmed for Ramadan 2026 and is updated each year when the new announcement lands.
Dubai Metro Timings During Ramadan (Red and Green Lines)
| Day | Operating Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 5:00 AM to 12:00 midnight |
| Friday | 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM (next day) |
| Saturday | 5:00 AM to 12:00 midnight |
| Sunday | 8:00 AM to 12:00 midnight |
Trains run more frequently around iftar as families head out, and the hour right after iftar is noticeably quieter on board. If you are heading to an iftar booking, aim to travel at least 45 minutes before sunset; platforms at interchange stations like BurJuman and Union get crowded in that window.

Parking and Salik Changes
- Public parking: paid periods shift during Ramadan, typically 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and again 8:00 PM to midnight, Monday to Saturday. Multi-storey car parks stay paid around the clock.
- Salik: the daily toll-free window moves from 1 to 6 AM to 2 to 7 AM during the holy month, in line with suhoor and fajr travel. Peak and off-peak windows are adjusted around iftar; check our Salik toll calculator for the standard rates.
- Buses and marine transport: schedules change by route; the S'hail app carries the live Ramadan timetable.
Riding the Metro During Ramadan: What to Know
- Eating and drinking on the metro is banned year-round anyway (AED 100 fine), so nothing changes on board. Out of respect, most people also avoid eating openly in station areas during fasting hours.
- Gold Class and the women and children cabin rules apply as normal. Check any rule in our metro fine checker.
- Friday evenings and the last ten nights see the heaviest crowds, especially around Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall and Al Rigga.
- For regular (non-Ramadan) hours, see our metro timings page and the first and last train guide.
When Is the Next Ramadan?
Ramadan follows the lunar calendar and moves about 11 days earlier each year. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on or around February 7, 2027, subject to moon sighting. RTA usually publishes its Ramadan service schedule a few days before the month starts, and this page is refreshed as soon as the announcement is out.
